Jontel & Kevin Engagement | M. Clay digital Photography

11-16-09

I recently shot an engagement session for a couple who kept me thoroughly entertained. Kevin could always say something to make her laugh, and made my job easy to be able to just sit back and capture their natural interaction. Kevin is also a talented trumpet player so I had him bring his instrument along for cool, night-time “jazzy” shots. He also proposed to Jontel at Mimosa Grill, and wanted a shot there….I had an idea in my head all week and that last shot turned out just like I envisoned. I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding next year. Here are a few other images from their shoot:

I recently shot a family portrait session for good friend of our family I have known just about all my life. They have a beautiful family and two smart, athletic boys. I had a great time shooting their session and loved the smiles and expressions between them. They had this huge oak tree nearby with some excellent light shining through it. I also admire the way they still look at each other after 11+ years of marriage. Here are a few images from their session:

Fall Festival Fun | M. Clay Photography

11-05-09

I had the opportunity to photograph the Step by Step Home Daycare’s 1st annual Fall Festival Party last weekend. There were costumes, cupcakes, face painting, pumpkin painting, dancing…and all kinds of other fun. And I had just as much fun shooting it. However, I must admit…the kids did wear me out 🙂 Each child walked away with a pumpkin, goodie bag, and free M. Clay digital photo of them decked out in their costume. Step by Step is the home daycare that was featured on an episode of Extreme Makeover last year. I can’t say enough good things about the daycare owners….they are two of the kindest and most giving folks you could ever meet. Here are a few images from the event:

Pittsburgh Bridal Shoot| M. Clay Photography

11-03-09

Last week I traveled to Pittsburgh to Shoot with Beckstead. It was a GREAT experience !! We had beautiful brides, dresses, and locations. As a sports fan, I was totally digging the opportunity to have free roam to shoot at PNC Park (home of the Pittsburgh Pirates)….that’s a pro baseball team for my “non-sportsy” folks 🙂 We also shot at some neat locations on the University of Pittsburgh campus. I would love to shoot a wedding in Pittsburgh…they have some enormous, historic cathedrals up there. I’m looking forward to offering my 2010 brides the option for fashion\artistic bridal shoots such as these. Here are a few of my favorite images from the shoot:

Charlotte, NC | Family Photography

Last weekend, I shot a beautiful family session. The weather was not cooperating at first that morning, but finally the clouds lifted and some good light presented itsself and we were able to take advantage of it. They have a 2 year old and a 3 month old and I love the natural interactions between this family. Here are a few of my favorites:
