Afternoon Engagement Session {Brittany + Brandon} | Charlotte, NC

Last week, we did a quick engagement session for Brittany & Brandon.  Being the dog lover that I am, I was excited to hear that they wanted to bring Dixie along for a few shots.  This makes my second couple this year who included their furry family memeber in their engagement session.  They are a beautiful couple and we had totally cooperative weather.  I couldn’t believe how perfectly Brittany’s eyes matched her shirt (although she wouldn’t admit that she planned that).  Although I won’t be able to shoot their wedding in Savannah, GA later this year, I’m glad I was able to provide them with some engagement pictures that they will be able to make use of.  I know they are going to have a gorgeous wedding and I wish them all the best.  Here are some images from their session:

Amelia Island Wedding Photographer | Happy Anniversary Serwa & Travis

I wanted to take a moment to wish one of our couples from last year a Happy 1 yearAnniversary.  We traveled down to Amelia Island to document Serwa & Travis’s beautiful destination wedding at the Ritz-Carlton.  This was our first destination wedding, and I was pretty much spoiled afterwards 🙂  Be sure to check out more pics and the full blog post from their Amelia Island Wedding.

Themed Engagement Session | Charlotte wedding photographer

When I first met Nardine & Bernard and they started expressing some of the ideas they had for their engagement session and wedding….I was all ears !! They are a gorgeous couple and also big movie buffs and wanted to do a movie-themed engagement session. It was like capturing them in action on a date….we started off in a park area and then worked our way indoors to the movies. They added an extra special touch by having their names lit up on the marquee. I went for a slightly ‘vintage’ touch on some of the pics inside to mimic the look and feel of an old-school movie theater along with dark, dramatic lighting to retain the ambiance. You may not be able to tell from the outdoor pics, but it was extremely windy that afternoon.  We had a great time and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this year. They have a few more surprises in store 🙂 Here are some images from their engagement session:

We are amazed! Mike totally captured what we were going for. I’d be thinking X would make a nice photo, and before I could suggest it Mike would be like, “Hey, let’s try shooting X.” We are so very very happy with the shoot. Thanks for listening Mike! We are glad we made you and your associates part of our special special event! Bernard and Nardine

A Little ladybug…

I was outdoors earlier today deeply contemplating whether I felt like doing any yardwork…which to a casual onlooker, may have appeared that I was standing in the middle of the yard staring at the grass doing nothing. But anyway….I happened to look at the branch of one of our small trees and saw a ladybug. But not ‘just’ a ladybug….she was laying these beautiful little golden eggs. I was able to snap 2 quick shots. The other one was a bit blurry for my taste, but this one turned out ok considering I had to shoot it handheld. Nature’s little creatures can be so fascinating…
