Uptown Mint Museum Wedding {Jennifer + Isaac} | Charlotte, NC

10-25-11

This was another one of our September weddings.  Jennifer and Isaac tied the knot in uptown Charlotte at the Mint Museum.  We hit it off with Jen & Isaac from day 1 after they included their 2 beautiful dogs in their engagement session.  Their wedding day was quite a treat.  In addition them being an amazing couple, I got the opportunity to work with some of my favorite vendors.  Serendipity Weddings & Events had the planning and details on point and C’leb Entertainment kept the party rocking all evening.  This wedding featured a large wedding party, but luckily…they were just as much fun as Jen & Isaac.   The day was beautiful and I was honored to be able to document such a wonderful occasion and glad to be able to call Jen & Zeke my friends 🙂  Here are some images highlighting their special day.

Always fun to capture a little cake smash action…

I thought it was pretty cool they ended the evening alone on the dance floor after all the guests had departed…

Brittany's bridal session

10-17-11

I would like to give a huge congrats to Brittany & Brandon who tied the knot this past weekend in Savannah, GA.  Unfortunately, I was already booked for their wedding day, but I still had the pleasure of shooting their engagement session and Brittany’s bridal session.  They are an absolutely fun couple to work with and I know they had a beautiful wedding this past weekend.  Here are some of my favorite images from Brittany’s bridal session.

When I see a beautiful sky like this, I hate to let it go to waste….it makes an amazing natural backdrop

I love her lace gown…it doesnt work for all brides. The pink shoes, pink ribbon and cowboy boots really gives it personality. The sunset sky is amazing. Another great photo shoot!

University Hilton Wedding {Kim + Eric} | Part II

10-13-11

Here are the rest of the images from Kim & Eric’s beautiful wedding day.  The ceremony was amazing and we had some great weather outdoors for some fun bride & groom shots.  A little more shade would have been nice, but no complaints 🙂  The reception was mostly traditional with a few twists…

– They had smooth jazz from a live band playing the entire evening so there was no DJ
– There was a special tribute from Kim to her dad and Eric was treated to a beautiful song by his new wife…there was so much talent in the room
– Kim got roasted by one her fellow church members….it was hilarious and he had the entire room cracking up

And we ended the day with a few more cool shots indoors.  Again Eric & Kim, thank you for allowing us to document your beautiful day and I wish you guys a blessed and prosperous marriage !!

University Hilton Wedding {Kim + Eric} | Part I

10-12-11

Last month, we shot an absolutely beautiful union of two of the nicest people you could ever meet.  Kim & Eric exchanged vows at the University Hilton in Charlotte, NC.  I usually get to meet most grooms at the initial consultation with the bride, but I didn’t get to meet Eric for the first time until their engagement session and we hit it off great….so I knew everything was gonna well with them.  Everything about their day was so classy from the details to the reception.  They are both ministers, so they had a very different type of ceremony than what I’ve experienced in the past and it was equally as beautiful.  I’m posting images from the pre-ceremony in Part I and I’ll be posting ceremony and bride & groom pics in Part II tomorrow…

A tribute to my sister…the Triathlete !!

10-11-11

A couple of weekends ago, I witnessed one of the most inspirational events I’ve ever seen.  My sister participated in the Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon Tour in Charlotte, NC.  It’s a women’s triathlon which consists of  a 250 yd swim, 9 mile bike, and 2 mile run.  Let me first say…my sister assists me on every wedding that I shoot.  She does quite a bit including second shooting, helping with equipment, posing, and just really helping keep hectic wedding days organized and on track.  We’ve developed such a great chemistry…she just knows what I need, where to be, etc without me having to say a word.  That kind of teamwork is extremely valuable to me.  She definitely helps keep the M. Clay Photography wheels rollin’ 🙂

So when she decided to train for this triathlon, of course I was going to be her biggest supporter !!  I had never attended a triathlon so I had no idea what to expect.  It was such an overwhelming atmosphere of encouragement everywhere.  There were over 1,500 participants of ALL different ages, nationalities, shape, sizes, and even disabilities.  During every stretch, there was always supporters (family & friends) shouting words of praise and encouragement….many times to participants they didn’t know.  And it was all with a simple common goal….to finish the event.  I cannot express how extremely proud I am of my sister for this accomplishment.  She’s inspired me to participate in a triathlon next year so that has been officially added to my 2012 list of goals.

Here’s a few images of from the event.

Here are some other random shots, just capturing some of the energy and excitement of the day…

And the most fulfilling part of the day….crossing the finish line !!

And here’s Stefanie rounding the corner for the final stretch….full of emotion and celebrating with family and fellow runners
