NFC Divisional Playoffs {49ers vs Panthers}| Charlotte, NC

01-13-14

I had one of the most exciting opportunities of my photography career yesterday.  I photographed the NFC Divisional Playoff game between the Panthers and the visiting 49ers.  A couple of months ago, I shot the Monday Night Football game against the Patriots and I thought that was the loudest I had ever heard Bank of America stadium….until yesterday.   NFL playoffs are on another level and the energy from the fans was crazy.  The 49ers brought their A-game all 4 quarters and the Panthers simply couldn’t keep up 2nd half.  It was a memorable experience to witness 2 of the great defenses in the league and 2 young, great quarterbacks go head-to-head.  Here’s some images from game.

Monday Night Football ! Panthers vs Patriots

12-04-13

A couple of weeks ago, I shot the Panthers vs. Patriots game from the sidelines on Monday Night Football.  I’ve shot several games over the last few years, but this was my first  opportunity to shoot a MNF game.  Even people who don’t follow football can identify with the “Monday Night Football” brand.  It ended up being a great game that came down to the last play of the game and I’ve never heard Bank of America stadium so loud.

By the way Ray Lewis was looking right at my camera on that 2nd pic, you would have thought he was doing his own personal GQ photoshoot

This was the game winning touchdown by Ted Ginn….but it happened on the wrong side of end zone for me to get the best shot 🙁

Last Sunday's Panthers vs. Cowboys game

11-02-12

I shot the Panther’s game last weekend against the visiting Dallas Cowboys.  It is amazing how many Dallas fans were present for this game.  It seemed like at least half the stadium were Cowboys fans.  The weather was perfect and not a cloud in the sky…beautiful day for playing (and shooting) football.  The home team lost another close one, but it was a great game.

This was a really neat capture. Caught a perfect frame by frame shot of a defender causing Mile’s Austin to fumble after a catch

Great reaction from the lucky fan who Cam presented a touchdown football to

You gotta appreciate the intensity of the Dallas fans

Great display of respect the players have for one another. They autograph each others gloves and shoes after the game.

NFL Thursday Night Football in Charlotte, NC | Panthers vs. Giants

09-26-12

Last week, I had an amazing opportunity to shoot my first night game!! Charlotte, NC and the Carolina Panthers finally made it to the big stage on NFL Thursday Night Football. Unfortunately, the home team didn’t put on a great showing as the Giants got the best of us with a final score of 36-7. Our offense never got going the entire night. It sapped the energy out of the stadium and there were a lot of long faces on the Panthers sideline and in the stands. I have a lot more shots than this, but I don’t want to bore you with a bunch of Giants highlights 🙁

The NFL Network crew prepping and tweeting before the pre-game show.

Swimming and Track & Field Olympic medalists Ricky Berens and Manteo Mitchell

John Beason looking like the Terminator !

Leydy Bonilla singing the National Anthem

Victor Cruz didn’t get a chance to salsa in the end zone

Giants signal caller and last years Superbowl MVP Eli Manning

Gotta love the fans !!

I guess the one bright spot for me personally was I played Andre Brown in one of my fantasy leagues. He racked up 113 rushing yds and 2 TD’s 🙂

I did manage to capture the only Panthers score of the night…Cam Newton diving over the pile.

ARC of Mecklenburg Festival of Trees 2010

12-20-10

I recently photographed the annual ARC of Mecklenburg Festival of Trees fundraiser.  The ARC is a non-profit organization that I frequently do volunteer work for and always enjoy every minute of it.  They had a ton of different gift packages, restaurant gift cards, and other items for auction for a really great cause.  And they also had some amazing trees decorated by their various sponsors.
