Bath Time !!

02-01-13

Nothing epic about these photos….I just thought I’d give a small glimpse into how I practice around the house when I’m not shooting weddings.  It gives me an opportunity to try out different camera settings, new techniques, or just simply stay sharp with the basics.  Bath time is always fun for kids (up until a certain age), and luckily Alissa is at the age where she still enjoys hers.

Alissa & Jax…Partners in crime

01-18-13

It has been entertaining watching Alissa grow up right before our eyes and the acclimation to Jax has gone great.  They have gotten along perfectly since Day 1 and she’s only tried to ride him about 10 times.  I’ll never forget Jax meeting her for the first time and couldn’t quite figure out what she was.  Fast forward 16 months and they are best of friends.  Probably because Alissa feeds Jax….constantly.  Like all the time.  Many times we’ve had to closely monitor her while eating her dinner to make sure didn’t ‘share’ most of it with Jax.  Usually where you find one, you find the other.  I think it’s pretty cool Alissa has her very own 100lb personal protector. Here’s a few various shots I gotten of the two of them…

These are the most precious photos, esp. the frig. I love that window view. Mine would give anything to get inside a refrigerator. Coming from an expert on Dobies.

Outstanding pics. They are so personal and authentic. Hold on to all of these memories Mike and Meeka, they come and go very (2x) fast. God bless.

Crazy weather in Charlotte this past weekend…

06-21-11

We had some ridiculous wind this weekend in Charlotte.  So the weather started hot and sunny.  I had just finished up shooting a wedding on Saturday and on my way home, some mini-torndao type wind got going….then it started to rain.  My path home was blocked with a large tree that had fallen across the road which made me take a detour home (this one’s a little hazy because I was shooting thru my windshield)

Then, while biking on the greenway Sunday morning, my path was blocked yet again by another huge fallen tree !!  I had to put my bike on my shoulder and maneuver through the brush to get around this one (taken with my iPhone)

I saw some other debris, and damage to homes, etc.  It was pretty serious.  Thank goodness it was a morning wedding and we avoided all of this 🙂

A Little ladybug…

04-10-11

I was outdoors earlier today deeply contemplating whether I felt like doing any yardwork…which to a casual onlooker, may have appeared that I was standing in the middle of the yard staring at the grass doing nothing. But anyway….I happened to look at the branch of one of our small trees and saw a ladybug. But not ‘just’ a ladybug….she was laying these beautiful little golden eggs. I was able to snap 2 quick shots. The other one was a bit blurry for my taste, but this one turned out ok considering I had to shoot it handheld. Nature’s little creatures can be so fascinating…

M. Clay Photography | Sun Rays

02-03-10

I have to give my wife credit for spotting this one…because I was too indulged in breakfast to have my “photographic eye” open 🙂  She pointed out these sun rays coming through the top of the window.  I just wanted to see how it looked if photographed.  I think it turned out kinda neat….you can’t beat the beauty of natural sunlight.
